What You Will Learn

In this learning path, WhatsUp Gold administrators will learn how to use Configuration Management tasks to back up their device configurations or change device credentials. They will learn how to audit and report on configuration changes, and how to use configuration templates, automation, and scripting to save time and ensure device compliance. Finally, they will review the settings that Configuration Management uses to communicate with devices.

You will learn how to:

• Use tasks to back up configuration files.
• Report on device configuration and task data.
• Use password tasks to change the SNMP, SSH, or Telnet credentials for a device.
• Associate a task with a role or sub role.
• Configure alert thresholds and notifications for tasks.
• Configure a Configuration Management action and use it in an action policy.
• Work with configuration templates.
• Use custom scripts to extend the functionality of Configuration Management.
• Configure remote client settings, command-line interface (CLI) settings, and file transfer settings.
