In this learning path, WhatsUp Gold users and administrators learn the reasons and benefits for maintaining and scaling a WhatsUp Gold environment for optimal system health and performance.
- You learn how the available resources for a WhatsUp Gold instance are measured, along with the factors which can impact system capacity and performance.
- You review the symptoms and causes of TCP/IP port exhaustion, along with solutions to address it.
- You learn about the device polling process that is performed by WhatsUp Gold and how to add additional scalability pollers.
- You learn how device monitor data is saved in WhatsUp Gold for reporting and how to optimize its retention settings.
- Finally, you learn the best practices for maintaining your WhatsUp Gold databases along with the steps to migrate your databases from SQL Express to a dedicated instance of SQL Server.

Visit the Progress Education Community (PEC) and log in with your Progress ID. If you do not have a Progress ID, you can register here.
