Content report

Overview

You use the Content report to get a high-level overview of the performance of your most important assets – pages, downloaded files, and videos.

You use this information to take informed decisions on how to change your assets to better suit your marketing goals. For example, you may add personalization to your top performing pages and remove or update the content of the lowest performing ones.

Content report

To open the Content report, navigate to the Analytics dashboard and, in the left panel, click Content.

You can select the time range for which you want to see reports - for example, for yesterday or for the past six months.
To do this, use the dropdown box, below the Content title.

NOTE: Sitefinity Insight calculates the statistics powering this report once per day. To get statistics for the current day, you need to wait for the nightly calculation of data.

The report has the following tabs:

Pages

On the Pages tab you see aggregated statistics for visited pages.
For each page you see the following:

  • The page title and its URL.
If you have renamed the page during the selected time range, you see the page title with the most visits for the period.
To open the page in your browser, click the page title or URL.
  • Total page views
The total number of times that the page has been visited. This includes multiple visits by the same visitor.
  • Unique page views
The number of unique visitors who viewed the page.
  • Average active time
The average time that the visitors spent on this page actively interacting with the content.
By measuring user-initiated interactions and active consumption of the page content, you can better understand which pages drive actual attention and engagement on your site.
  • Last page view
The last date when the page was visited.

Documents

On the Documents tab you see aggregated statistics for files downloaded from any Sitefinity CMS document library.
For each file you see the following:

  • File name and its URL.
The file name is automatically generated by the last part of the file’s URL.
Click the file name to open it in your browser.
  • Total downloads
The total number of times that the file has been downloaded. This includes multiple downloads by the same visitor.
  • Unique downloads
The number of unique visitors that downloaded this file.
  • Last download
The last date when the file was downloaded.

Videos

On the Videos tab you see aggregated statistics for playing videos hosted in Sitefinity CMS libraries or embedding videos from YouTube on Sitefinity CMS pages. Sitefinity Insight counts the interaction when a visitor clicks on the Play button.
For more information, see Track Interactions with YouTube videos » Tracking considerations.
For each video you see the following:

  • Video title and its URL.
If you have renamed the video during the selected time range, you see the video title with the most visits.
If the interaction was reported by an old version of Sitefinity CMS or custom tracking code, the video title might not be available, and you would see the video URL instead.
To open the video in a browser, click the video name or URL .
  • Total plays
The total number of times the video has started playing. This includes repeated plays by the same visitor.
  • Unique plays
The number of unique visitors that played this video.
  • Last play
The last date when the video was played.

Search and sort

On any tab, you can use the search box to filter the content of the table. You need to enter at least three characters to start searching.

By default, the report shows top 50 items sorted by Total interactions. To load more items, click Load more items.

You can sort each of the columns in ascending and descending order.
